Welcome to Adobe Illustrator 5.5 Try-Out. This version of Adobe Illustrator is a fully functional program, with the exception of printing, saving and clipboard export--which have been disabled. We hope you will enjoy the new innovative features in version 5.5 including the Gradients palette, Edit-in-Preview, Multiple Undos, Custom Views, plug-in filters including Adobe’s exclusive Pathfinder technology, the enhanced Paint Style palette and more. Version 5.0 also includes Adobe Separator, Adobe Type Manager and 40 typefaces from the award-winning Adobe Type Library.
If you are a current Illustrator 5.0 user, you can upgrade to version 5.5 for $99. Or, if you are a user of Illustrator 3.2 or earlier version, you can upgrade to version 5.5 for $149.

The folder entitled, “Copy to your System Folder,” contains the Claris XTND system which is used to import and export text in a variety of file formats. Only TEXT, MACWRITE II and MACWRITE 5.0 formats are included with this Try-Out version. The retail version of Illustrator also has translators for RTF, MSWORD 3,4,&5, WORDPERFECT and WRITENOW.
IMPORTANT: Although Adobe Illustrator 5.5 will run with Apple System Software version 6.0.7, Adobe recommends using System 7 or higher.
